At the end of 15th century the Jews were transferred from Krakow to Kazimierz, where over the years they built many synagogues, schools and houses. The centre of Jewish culture was Szeroka Street, where you can see the Old Synagogue, The Remuh Synagogue and Cementary, The Great Mikveh and Helena Rubinstein’s house. Next to the Jewish part, there was also Christian part of Kazimierz, where Market Square (Plac Wolnica), a town hall and The Corpus Christi Basilica are located. Today Kazimierz has not only educational value but it is also a charming district full of small cafes and a great place to enjoy Krakow nightlife.
